Description

A Cantos Compendium — Paulo de Cantos (1892-1979) A designer of pedagogical theories is a publication about Paulo de Cantos, editor, bibliophile, pedagogue and amateur typographer who occupies a particular place in artistic modernity in Portugal, having written, designed and edited between 1920 and 1960 about 40 titles.
The book presents four essays that expand on Cantos’ life and work in the context of national and European design and pedagogy, followed by visual essays on his work in a speculative logic of shuffling and re-presenting, recombining his work in a composite exercise à la Cantos.
Texts by António Silveira Gomes, Sébastien Dégeilh, Éloïsa Pérez and Mário Moura.
